Verification boundary: Every main-list company has a current Turkish legal, factory or authoritative institutional manufacturing trail plus current first-party equipment evidence. Verification confirms public existence and documented scope at the cutoff. It is not a factory audit, credit report, sanctions screen, certificate approval, animal-welfare assessment, reference acceptance or performance test. Capacity, exports, project counts, efficiency, durability and service statements remain supplier claims until the exact offered system is documented and witnessed.
Executive answer
Türkiye has a credible poultry-equipment manufacturing base, but the suppliers do not all solve the same problem. Tavsan, AYTAV, Kutlusan, Azim-Tav and Anka Kumes document broad house or cage-system portfolios. Gures Technology is particularly relevant to layer, cage, egg and manure systems. HizCo is a focused feeding/watering and floor-house component manufacturer/integrator. Cimuka is an incubation and hatchery specialist, not a substitute for a complete commercial broiler or layer-house supplier.
This guide verifies 8 Turkish manufacturer groups and separates 6 additional candidates. It does not rank them. A cage builder, a floor-house supplier and an incubator manufacturer should be evaluated against different user requirements.
The correct supplier is the one that sizes the system for the actual bird, production model, final live mass, climate, house geometry and destination rules; discloses every bought-in component; proves installed airflow, feed and water delivery; and supports alarms, backup power, cleaning and spare parts after commissioning.
Define the project before naming suppliers
Freeze these inputs before requesting quotations:
- broiler, layer, pullet/rearing, breeder, turkey, quail or hatchery duty;
- floor, aviary, enriched-cage or another legally permitted housing system;
- house internal usable dimensions, number of houses and site master plan;
- placement, thinning, transfer and harvest schedule;
- breed/strain, sex where relevant, cycle, final weight and peak total live mass;
- egg collection, manure removal, litter and mortality routes;
- site elevation, wind, winter design temperature, summer dry- and wet-bulb conditions;
- water source, pressure, chemistry and treatment;
- grid, generator, fuel and communications reliability;
- destination welfare, building, machinery, electrical, environmental and fire rules; and
- civil works, installation, utilities, controls, training and service battery limits.
“50,000-bird house” is not a design basis. The same bird count can produce different peak live mass, drinking demand, heat/moisture load, feeder access, manure production and ventilation duty. Request one signed basis-of-design sheet from every bidder.

The contract must state who provides earthworks, foundations, buildings, fire system, transformer, generator, fuel, water treatment, feed bins, internet/SIM, fencing, biosecurity gate, laboratory tools, lifting, installation labour, accommodation, permits and local inspections.

Enhanced due diligence is not a rejection. It means the reviewed public record did not establish legal manufacturer, factory control or make-versus-buy scope as clearly as the main tier. A candidate can qualify through a current registry, factory audit, controlled BOM, named OEMs, exact drawings and comparable operating references.
Dealers and foreign manufacturers: label them correctly

A Turkish sales office or integrator can still be useful. It should be described as a dealer/integrator of a named foreign OEM, not included as a Turkish manufacturer of that equipment. This distinction protects origin statements, warranty routing and spare-parts planning.
Select the housing system before comparing capacity
Floor-reared broilers, breeder houses, aviaries, enriched cages, conventional cage systems and pullet/rearing systems have different access, structure, manure, egg, lighting, ventilation and welfare requirements.
For EU examples, Directive 2007/43/EC defines broiler stocking density using kilograms of live weight per square metre of usable area, with a 33 kg/m2 baseline and higher levels only under additional conditions. Directive 1999/74/EC sets separate requirements for alternative layer systems and enriched cages. These are EU legal examples, not universal global limits.
Never accept “EU cage” without the exact system, current legal route, usable-area calculation, feeder/drinker/nest/perch/litter access, inspection and destination approval. Conventional cage legality differs by market. The buyer is responsible for confirming that the chosen system is permitted at commissioning and throughout its intended use.
Capacity: birds are not the engineering unit
For broilers, calculate peak total live mass by house, considering final weight and thinning. Define legally usable littered area and exclusions. For layers and cages, define birds per compartment, usable area, tiers, rows, aisle/service space, feeder length, drinker access, nest/perch/litter provisions and structural load.

Reject a capacity that cannot be reconstructed from a drawing and bird schedule.
Feeding system specification
Feed delivery must remain uniform from silo to the last pan or trough. Define feed type, bulk density, particle/pellet range, daily and peak demand, silo autonomy, unloading method and segregation between diets.
For each line, contract:
- number and location of silos, usable tonnes and high/low level devices;
- auger/conveyor route, diameter, maximum length, bends and kg/h;
- far-end fill time at design feed and voltage;
- line count, pan/trough type, access ratio and height range;
- start-feed behavior and adjustment;
- motor, gearbox, overload, sensor and empty-run protection;
- suspension, winch, anti-perch and safe lifting;
- residual feed, clean-out, inspection and pest control; and
- manual/emergency feeding plan after power or control failure.
SAT should measure delivered mass and distribution at the worst route. A motor rating or free-flow auger value does not prove every pan fills correctly.
Drinking and water-management specification
Water affects welfare, litter, cooling, dosing and performance. Define source quality, treatment, minimum inlet pressure, peak litres/hour by bird age and climate, header storage and outage response.
Specify line length, regulator zones, nipple/cup type, birds per point, height adjustment, pressure profile, end flushing, meter resolution, leak detection, medication/dosing accuracy and sampling points. Map drainage so flushing and leaks do not create wet litter or manure problems.
Test:
- flow at the first, middle and last drinker under simultaneous demand;
- pressure stability at minimum site supply;
- nipple leakage and line slope;
- flush flow, duration and discharge route;
- dosing calibration and mixing recovery;
- meter/low-flow alarm sensitivity; and
- safe operation after pump, sensor or power failure.
Directive 98/58/EC requires feeding/watering equipment to minimize contamination and harmful competition in its scope. The specific access ratio remains a project and jurisdiction decision.
Ventilation, heating and cooling
The supplier must provide a signed thermal and mass-balance model. Use bird sensible and latent loads by age, peak live mass, house envelope and leakage, site altitude, external design conditions, litter/manure moisture and installed equipment heat.
Separate:
- minimum ventilation for air quality and moisture;
- transition ventilation;
- tunnel or hot-weather ventilation;
- heating and brooding;
- evaporative cooling; and
- emergency ventilation after equipment or power failure.
Fan catalogue airflow at zero static pressure is not installed capacity. Require each duty point at the calculated system static pressure, including inlets, pads, shutters, guards, dust and reasonable fouling. Identify fan test standard and correction for voltage, altitude and temperature.
Define inlet quantity/area, throw and control; fan stages and redundancy; pad area, water quality, pumps and bleed; heater type, combustion air and gas safety; circulation fans; sensor type/location; and controller sequence. Avoid direct drafts, dead zones and short-circuit airflow.
For the higher-density EU broiler route, Directive 2007/43/EC includes specific ammonia, carbon-dioxide, temperature and humidity conditions. Those numbers do not automatically govern every house. WOAH’s broiler welfare chapter provides international recommendations, including outcome monitoring and ventilation/backup considerations. State which rule or contract criterion applies.
Accept climate performance using a calibrated bird-level grid for temperature, humidity, air speed and gases under defined bird mass and weather—not a single controller sensor.
Controls, alarms and power resilience
The controller is part of a life-support system. Contract a cause-and-effect matrix for:
- mains loss and generator start failure;
- controller/watchdog or network failure;
- high/low temperature and implausible sensor values;
- fan stage, inlet, pad/pump or heater fault;
- water pressure/flow loss and leakage;
- feed-line failure;
- silo low/high and conveyor overload;
- egg/manure conveyor jam;
- communications loss; and
- fire or other site emergency interfaces.
Define local horn/beacon, remote channels, delivery confirmation, acknowledgement, escalation, event history and manual override. Use an independent critical-high-temperature alarm where the risk assessment requires it. Provide UPS for controls/communications and a generator/ATS sized for essential loads.
SAT should inject faults: blackout and black start at peak essential load, failed fan group, failed sensor, stuck inlet, water loss, feed fault, controller reboot and communications loss. Demonstrate safe local operation without cloud access.
Directive 98/58/EC requires daily inspection of essential automated/mechanical equipment and, where animal health/well-being depends on artificial ventilation, backup and a tested breakdown alarm. Treat this as an EU scope requirement and map the actual destination rule.
Lighting
